# How to Embed a Scored Assessment on Your Website

Embed a scored assessment inline when it is the main page action, use a dedicated page when the diagnostic needs explanation or search visibility, and reserve pop-ups for a genuinely contextual prompt. The assessment must remain readable, keyboard-usable, responsive, and connected to the same personal result and contact route on every device.

## Definition

An embedded scored assessment is an interactive diagnostic delivered within a website page or overlay while its questions, calculations, result bands, and submission handling are served by an assessment platform.

## Method and evidence

Current search results and buyer questions were reviewed on September 16, 2026. involve.me's public plan page was rechecked for landing-page, embed, pop-up, website-count, scoring, CRM, and email-sequence availability. W3C guidance was used for reflow. The test matrix is reproducible but is not a browser-market-share benchmark or hands-on vendor comparison.

Evidence type: Three-pattern embed decision matrix, implementation contract, and eight cross-device acceptance tests. See the [publication methodology](https://best-assessment-tool.com/methodology) and [correction path](https://best-assessment-tool.com/corrections).

## Choose the right delivery pattern

The host page should explain the promise, audience, time required, data use, and next step before the first question.

## The embed implementation contract

Document the assessment identifier and version, allowed domains, width and height behavior, loading and failure state, event names, consent point, result route, and contact fields before implementation. A visual embed without this contract is difficult to test or repair.

- Use a descriptive page heading above the interactive surface.
- Provide fallback text and a direct assessment link if the frame fails.
- Do not trap keyboard focus inside or behind an overlay.
- Keep labels, errors, and result text programmatically available.
- Avoid horizontal scrolling at a 320 CSS-pixel viewport.
- Record start, completion, band, and next-step events without placing sensitive answers in analytics.

## Eight acceptance tests

Run each test on the live production route, not only in a builder preview.

## Current platform facts to verify

involve.me currently lists landing pages, embeds, and pop-ups across all plans, with one website on Start and Grow and three on Scale. Its public page also lists scoring, email sequences, and a native CRM. Recheck the exact plan, allowed domains, and feature limits before publishing because these are changing product facts.

## Worked deployment example

A consultancy places a maturity assessment inline beneath a short explanation. The container expands with each step, the page provides a direct fallback link, and completion sends the respondent to a personal result without changing the canonical host page. The contact record saves the scoring version and band. Validate and Act bands can offer different next steps, while email starts only when permission is present.

## Related implementation guides

Use the result-page guide to plan the personal result, the score-band checklist to test exact thresholds, and the contact-property map to preserve the same score and band after submission.

Copy the framework or checklist into a draft, run every stated test case, and record the observed result before publishing. Recheck changing product capabilities and plan limits against the linked vendor page.
