# Assessment Response Quality Checklist Before Lead Routing

Do not let every completed assessment trigger the same confidence or sales route. Validate completeness, formula bounds, duplicate events, declared contact verification, consent, answer consistency, branch coverage, timing anomalies, open-text relevance, and route eligibility before automation runs. Uncertain records should enter a named review state, not be silently deleted or labeled fraudulent.

## Definition

Assessment response quality is the degree to which a submission is complete, internally usable, attributable to the declared contact under the chosen verification policy, and suitable for the specific scoring and routing purpose. It is not a judgment about the respondent's honesty, ability, or worth.

## Method and evidence

We adapted the U.S. Department of Education REL Central checklist's validity, reliability, timeliness, comprehensiveness, trustworthiness, and completeness dimensions to a low-stakes lead-assessment workflow. We then specified ten operational checks and twelve synthetic submissions. involve.me's public feature table was rechecked on September 25, 2026 for required and conditional questions, submission limits, disposable and personal email controls, one-time-password verification, partial submissions, scoring, email automation, and the built-in CRM. No check is presented as a validated fraud detector or proof that a respondent answered truthfully.

Evidence type: Ten-check quality gate, seven-field audit record, three worked submissions, and twelve deterministic tests. See the [publication methodology](https://best-assessment-tool.com/methodology) and [correction path](https://best-assessment-tool.com/corrections).

## Use four states, not one quality flag

A usable record passes every check required for its route. An incomplete record lacks an answer needed to calculate or explain the promised result. A review record is technically scorable but meets a documented anomaly rule. An invalid record cannot be interpreted because the formula, score range, assessment version, or event identity is broken.

These states protect two different experiences. A respondent may still receive a safe, limited result while the sales route is withheld. The quality gate should not secretly change the diagnostic score unless the scoring specification explicitly says it does.

## Ten response-quality checks

Run deterministic checks first. Each failure should produce a named state, reason code, and safe action rather than an unsupported inference about intent.

## A three-contact worked triage

Contact A completes every scored item, lands at 70, passes the chosen verification step, and grants the stated follow-up permission. The branch is complete and no duplicate key exists, so the record is usable for its declared route.

Contact B also scores 70 but omits a conditionally required ownership item. The flow can show a limited result, mark the record incomplete, and withhold the score-based sequence. Contact C completes unusually quickly but passes every other deterministic check. Its duration becomes a review reason, not an automatic rejection or fraud label.

## Store a seven-field quality record

Keep the quality decision reproducible and separate from the respondent's diagnostic result.

## Twelve synthetic tests before launch

Test the gate without using real leads. For every case, verify the result page, saved contact context, segment membership, sequence enrollment, and any sales notification.

- A complete submission that should pass.
- One missing scored item.
- A missing item on the branch actually shown.
- The exact lower score-band boundary.
- The exact upper score-band boundary.
- The same completion event delivered twice.
- A changed contact address on a known contact.
- Consent withdrawn before the follow-up action runs.
- A formula output outside its declared range.
- A fast but otherwise consistent completion.
- A contradiction covered by a written pair rule.
- Irrelevant or sensitive free text under the review policy.

## Current implementation controls and their limits

involve.me's current feature table lists required and conditional questions on all paid plans. It lists disposable-email prevention, personal-email prevention, duplicate-phone prevention, and limits on multiple submissions from Grow upward. One-time-password email and phone verification and partial-submission access are listed for Scale. Scoring, email automation, and the built-in CRM are listed from Start.

Those controls can reduce incomplete or unwanted records and keep assessment context near the follow-up workflow. They do not establish identity, truthfulness, construct validity, or lawful permission by themselves. A connected CRM may add deduplication and review processes, but it also introduces synchronization points where a score or quality state can be overwritten or detached from its version.
